Creative and Gap-Filling Guns

Post by Flashlight237 » Fri Feb 14, 2020 1:30 am

So yeah, I figured realistic guns will probably get boring, so I made two creative guns. Here they are.:

The first one is a Robby classic: the Fruit Bouncer. I have the perfect description for it too.: "Bounce oranges off the walls. Click to feed the monsters."

Speaking of fruit, here's another gun.:

Yeah, that's a watermelon, which was inspired by Yoshi's Island when Yoshi spat out watermelon seeds like machine gun fire. I would suggest this thing be about as fast, maybe faster than an Uzi (see Cyro's thread here: https://eliatopia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=425 ).

But yeah, there's that.

Okay, so it was made apparent to me through exploration that the update on guns left huge gaps behind, particularly between the Paintball Gun and the Musket (6 vs 23 Power) and between the Big Squirt Gun and the Walther PPK (3 vs 12 Power). As such, I've made four more guns.

First up, here's an early handgun, which makes sense between the Big Squirt Gun and the Walther PPK: the Pepperbox. Yes, that's an actual gun.:

Next up is a coconut gun that fires in spurts.

If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt.

Thirdly, we got an air rifle, which is fitting for a weapon between a Paintball Gun and a Musket: an air rifle.:

Remember, kids, Small animals who get shot by air rifles always die spazzing out.

Lastly, we got the earliest rifle-type weapon: the arquebus.:

The arquebus is a weapon invented in the 15th century, so quite an interesting contender for a weapon below the musket.

Speaking of guns, I tested out firing rates for the watermelon from Yoshi's Island and the Coconut Gun from Donkey Kong (firing at the mouth of DK Isle from the #3 Platform). Here are the suggested RPM values for the watermelon and coconut guns I've made.:

Loaded Watermelon: 450 RPM (tested from Yoshi's Island
Coconut Gun: 216 RPM

So yeah, there's that.

Ah nice guns! Haha, cool elephant gun, that's quite an older game of mine. >.< It's neat, but I think players might be a bit confused as to why a small elephant is shooting being used as a gun. =P

I do like the pepperbox, air rifle, and arquebus, and especially the coconut gun! Good job the research for the guns as well. I'd say there's a decent chance of some of these making their way into a future update.
