The Kongregate game "Bit Heroes" has this same concept where you get stat points for logging in for 10/20/30 days (Doesn't have to be consecutive)
And these stat points are just how you progress the game (Instead of getting ultra lucky with the crappy RNG)

Login awards are something I would like to see in the game to promote more activeness ingame. But, I think the rewards shouldn't be as overpowered as stat points and instead maybe a set piece of armor or a small amount of money.

I think youre not paying attention, does not matter if its with or without money when it has a time limit on it, OG players would be a million times stronger then newbies.

Ohh... Now that I think about it, if OG players recieve the benefit of daily or weekly rewards, they will be a quite a few months or even years ahead of newbies who join later (perhaps after the game is fully developed). This advantage would be purely time-based and new players would have no way of catching up.
(Also, I realized the possibility of this being abused with a large number of lvl 1 alts created for the sole purpose of collecting these daily or weekly rewards. I understand now...)
