I've seen the responses to the Farming suggestion and the 48-Hour Challenge thing and... Robby, you're an Indie game dev, not an Activision employee. Don't put limits on what you can do, alright? You're supposed to be beyond that Activision crap. Take notes from ME, for instance; I ignore practically every limit out there when making art for the game!

Re: Maybe DON'T Limit Yourself
Robby said pv sales are kind of low and that indie games are his main source of income... He kind of needs to make emeralds pay only.
(If that's what you're refering to)

The fact that Robby's trying to stifle himself in general, which an indie game dev SHOULDN'T do.troopas wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 6:10 pmOk...then what ARE you refering to

Or maybe hire someone to help with his job

Unless you tell us specifically what he said with citations, I'm not adding anything.Flashlight237 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 6:20 pmThe fact that Robby's trying to stifle himself in general, which an indie game dev SHOULDN'T do.
unless you mean the clearly iffy payvault guild exp thing, I dislike that but nobody else argued against it so /shrug

Certainly. Right here: https://www.eliatopia.com/forum/viewtop ... f=5&t=3155 "However, currently I'm trying to really dial in on focusing on getting the main game and core components complete. So I want to keep my focus on the story and main story, equipment, enemies, skills, areas, guild and PvP features, and a few payvault things since sales still aren't the greatest.cinos wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 3:30 pmUnless you tell us specifically what he said with citations, I'm not adding anything.Flashlight237 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 6:20 pmThe fact that Robby's trying to stifle himself in general, which an indie game dev SHOULDN'T do.

I think this would be something I would like to add, but perhaps after the main story is complete. I just want to make sure the main story part of the game isn't something that drags on infinitely before I start with toooo many side features. This is a good idea though, just that I'm limited on development time/resources. =/"
And here: https://www.eliatopia.com/forum/viewtop ... f=5&t=8329 "Thanks for the suggestion. While what you mentioned could be a neat side thing for the game, I think it would take too much development time and wouldn't contribute enough to the core aspect of the game. There is a thing called "feature creep" in game and software development, that I think this would fall under."
What I'm trying to get across here is Robby doesn't realize that, as an indie game dev, he can do whatever her pleases whenever he pleases to make a game the best that he could, like, without constraints like deadlines and stuff. Put your heart into it, man!
