To start, Robby had mentioned previously that he wanted PvP events, like KOTH, to be a way to remove money out of the economy, not add to it. I’d strongly urge you to reconsider this, for a few reasons:
1) It doesn’t really encourage PvP at all, it actually discourages it to a certain extent
2) There are currently no alternate ways to actually make money aside from kill mobs, which gets very dry
3) The economy can definitely support more money being added into it from different ways
Now, with that out of the way, onto the actual revamp suggestions. The KOTH is a great idea, and is something that definitely can be a really cool event, but currently it's just not set up properly in my opinion, and I think that can easily be seen by basically no one ever using it.
Main Revamp Suggestions;
1) Remove the fact that you need to carry money in order to participate.
Aside from the fact that pvp is based on constantly dying and respawning and not really long drawn-out fights, this element also basically prevents cowboys from participating because of the money power skill. Pretty much all cowboys use money power to grind, but the skill significantly lowers the players defense, which is crucial in pvp. Having to carry money, even just a smaller amount will significantly alter the players stats, and in a negative way for pvp. Not to mention, in its current state if there were to be a big KOTH battle, I’d probably be spending millions of coins just to participate because of the constant death, not to mention having to go and get more coins after you die, which takes a lot of time and is annoying.
2) Change the timer from “best time out of 15 minutes” to “first player to 10 minutes of capture time”
The current system doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me. Like, if there's 2 minutes left on the current KOTH, and the first place player has a more than 2 minute lead on the 2nd place player, there is no use even participating in that KOTH because they are going to win no matter what. IMO, it would be much better to make it “first player to 10 minute capture time wins” because then no matter how much time the first place player was at, it would always be worth competing with them for the win for the most part.
3) Changing KOTH to an event every 6 hours rather than constantly every 15 minutes.
Having the KOTH as a continuous “event”, really doesn’t make it an “event”. If it was every 6 hours, it would still offer 4 opportunities per day, which players from any timezone would be able to participate in, but it would make it more of an actual event and attract more players to it. Every 4 hours would also be a solid option.
4) Giving actual rewards for top 3 placement in the KOTH
Going off some of what was already said, doing this would make the KOTH more of an event which would attract more players to it, while also creating an alternative way to make money in the game, which is very much needed IMO. The prizes could really be anything, just coins, emeralds, pieces of higher level equipment, perhaps already runed equipment even. The prices would likely have to scale with the economy, but the economy doesn’t grow very much with dupers gone, so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Based on the current economy, I think fair rewards for a KOTH every 6 hours would be something like ~400-500k value for first, ~150-200k value for second, and ~50-100k value for third. Not anything crazy by any means, but definitely something worth competing for.
5) Rework the actual "hill" to be more inclusive.
Right now, the actual KOTH "hill" is not very inclusive to all classes. It only has 1 point of entry and is very small, making a ranged class like cowboy fairly useless, while making a very high damage class like warrior OP, and allowing things like mages to spawn both storm clouds ontop of the hill, so everyone constantly takes damage from both of them without any way to avoid. I think the KOTH "hill" should be more like an arena, with a specific point inside the arena where you actually accumulate capture time. This would make it much more skill based and inclusive for all classes, and less "spam skills as much and as fast as u can in a small area and whoever crits wins".
Smaller Suggestions:
1) Most Individual KOTH Captures leaderboard & HOF statue
2) Most Guild KOTH Captures leaderboard (sum of each guild members KOTH captures)

Support, 500k per event would only add 2m per day in the economy which isn't alot. But is enough to compete for.

The way KOTH currently runs isn't really all that exciting. Though with an incentive like mentioned above, more players might show up to participate rather than being the ignored feature it is now.

I'll support this. I know too little about PvP to go out on a limb as I usually do, but really, camping is NOT a good strategy.

Thanks for the feedback! I'd like to get a KOTH statue added in the near future for sure. I've been spending a bit of time fixing bugs and adding small suggestions the past week or two and want to spend some more time for content for next update. But nonetheless, here are the two suggestions mentioned here that I've got added for next update.

Just making a note here so other can see the change coming. KOTH will have the coin reduction feature removed in the next update, since it seems that players will enjoy it more than way. The jackpot will instead be relative to the number of players currently online. With the current average players online, that will make KOTH jackpots somewhere around 35,000 coins average. The number will increase relative to how many players are online.
