My main thing is that I want to create a clear contrast between a person using a shield and a person using only a weapon(s). That contrast being a defensive decision and an offensive decision. I feel giving an offensive bonus to using a shield kind of blurs those lines. I want most of the perks of using a shield to be defense benefits or features.
That being said I have added 2 new shield skills for the next update. The second one does have a slight offensive benefit though. Here is what they will be:
"Hearty Shield": Increase your overall health when using a shield.
Levels: 5
Base HP increase: 10
HP increase per level: 15
"Reflection": When attacked, you have a chance of reflecting the attack back at the enemy, thus causing them to attack themselves. The reflected attack misses you, so you do not receive damage from it.
Levels: 4
Base chance: 6%
Chance increase per level: 4%

Also Find me on Voxiom.io - ShadowReaperBR
Re: Shield Skills
Will they have the ability to use hardening stones on them? I know its considered a weapon slot in game but it makes sense.Robby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:11 pmThanks for the suggestions! Re: Shield Skills
ngl dude, a lot of these are boring stat boosts, plus shield surfing using the V key is a BAAAAAD idea. heck, shouldn't riot control be a skill that shoves people away? Ya know, CROWD CONTROL? I think that's just me, but it's more unique than...stat boosts?
also, pointless comment, shields do have one use nowadays, and that's high HP, High defense, toddler strength builds...which nobody would ever want to use in PVE, seriously.

Great now pvp-build warriors will be even more unstoppable than they already are.Robby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:11 pmThanks for the suggestions! meh, there's a strategy for those...atleast for warriors and I think archers, I dunno how gunmen or wizards could do the same thing.CrazyVanilla wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 11:50 pmGreat now pvp-build warriors will be even more unstoppable than they already are.Robby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:11 pmThanks for the suggestions! Re: Shield Skills
Actually, your idea for the riot control thing sounds better than what I got. But yeah, why did you think there are only 3.2% of players who actually use shields compared to 51% of dual-wielders and 46% of two-handers? Even whipmasters have higher comparative usage (8.5% when warriors have 32.2%), and that's a single class and not something general-purpose like shields. Who knows for sure how many of the three classes that CAN use shields (warriors, mages, and gunmen) actually use them?cinos wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 11:49 pmngl dude, a lot of these are boring stat boosts, plus shield surfing using the V key is a BAAAAAD idea. heck, shouldn't riot control be a skill that shoves people away? I was about to ask where you got those but then I remembered the economy data page has that, which WOW that's actually kinda nifty.Flashlight237 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:20 amActually, your idea for the riot control thing sounds better than what I got. also just saying, atleast 10% of warriors are new players, because warrior has always been the first on the character creation screen, that's what most people start as (including me, in BOTH Elia and HH, there's a reason sticks are a meme and not toy guns)
