you dont know if the mob is low so just slap a health bar on it like helmet heroes
Edit: maybe press R to activate mob health, or extra settings

Naww, I don't really want this. I'm pretty sure it was left out for the same reason as player names, to make the game feel less "gamey", ya know?
Also, I dunno it would probably also look weird here, plus not having much of a point to begin with.

Maybe the texture of the monster would change based on the amount of health?

Yeah, this is pretty much true. Rooby had stated that he avoided HP bars and names under players because he didn't want the game to have too many UI elements.
