Something that's kinda noticeable yet nobody brought it up was, well, the enemies in the game are flippin' dumb. Like, for starters, when you're within range, yet behind enemies, they won't TURN AROUND!: http://prntscr.com/vaxafe
This makes monsters fairly easy to kill if you know where their attack hitboxes are. Petunias, Ground Spitters, Stalagmites, and Batlings are an exception to this. Petunias because their standing still means they can face any direction they wish, and the other three because ranged attacks can go anywhere. Jumping enemies (Squishers, Fanged Squishers, Spiked Squishers, Armed Dillos, and Rafflesias) are a weird case, of course.
Summing it up, the monsters that stand still to attack are the ones that won't turn around to face the player.
Another thing about monsters is, well, they don't change direction when they touch something that gets in the way. Most notoriously, Shagdaws do this as they keep standing there doing nothing when they run into fences. They say dogs are man's best friend, but I wouldn't exactly want a dog that keeps trying to phase through a fence.
Pathfinding... Well, there are three types of monsters when it comes to pathfinding: stationary monsters, running monsters, and chasing monsters. Here's where each and every monster would fit:
Stationary: Petunia, Ground Spitter, Stalagmite, Ooze Horror, Lumbercore
Running: Squisher, Fanged Squisher, Shagdaw, Hellshag, Spiked Squisher, Crab, Armed Dillo, Dumtilian, Ooze, Rafflesia, Logon, Grunt, Batling (visibly), Scorpee
Chasing: Agent, Logon (originally), Batling (if they can be provoked)
Yeah, Batlings have their own intelligence issue: they won't wake up when players try to actively provoke them. I think this would best be saved when a sneaking mechanic can be implemented.
As for the other guys, well, I'd say Logons worked better when they behaved similarly to Agents. By that, I mean they don't up and jump into the water.
For the paths themselves, well, given the narrowness of the area they're in, I'd say Dumtilians are better off traveling back and forth in a straight line than walking around in a square path. The same can be said for other monsters that have too little room to work with where they're at.
Cliffs? Well, that depends. I mean green Koopas fall off cliffs while red Koopas think to get away from cliffs, so there's that.
But yeah, there could be some AI-tweaking done here and there.

ok you must be retarded if you are comparing a shitty grind game to an old ps1 short story game. better enemy AI is irrelevant when this entire game revolves around just sitting in 1 area and clicking mouse1 a few times. this game is so incredibly boring that even if there was a better AI, its impact would be little to nothing because of this games repetitive nature.Flashlight237 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 1:59 amThere is literally a recently-made AVGN review that once again emphasized the importance of smart enemy AI: https://youtu.be/AtbhSRCR7S0?t=600

Thanks, I went ahead and put this on my to-do list. Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll try and tweak it so they are a bit better.
Re: Making Enemies Smarter
Then again, (no offense to Robby or anything) this game is meant for kids tens, I'm getting really iratated at the fact that you and some other toxic players constantly son-of-a-gun about the littlest things, this game is a game set for you teens and children god damnit, stop yelling at the younger folk and expecting this game to be a fudging world of warcraft tier game, and you say you're an adult? Dude, you're a petty excuse of a man, dude, and you're probably just some fat slob who sits at his computer all day cause you got nothing better to do, if you're an adult than start acting like one, and stop bitching and being toxic on a kids game, and you can say whatever the heck you want about me, you can say I didn't ask you, which I could give two shits whether you asked me or not, and you can say whatever you want about my past, I personally don't care, But I'm not gonna sit here and read your toxic texts every god dang day as you son-of-a-gun and whine about the stupidest poop on a god dang kids game, if you're gonna do that, please go somewhere else and do that.TensCowboy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 2:08 amok you must be retarded if you are comparing a shitty grind game to an old ps1 short story game. better enemy AI is irrelevant when this entire game revolves around just sitting in 1 area and clicking mouse1 a few times. this game is so incredibly boring that even if there was a better AI, its impact would be little to nothing because of this games repetitive nature.Flashlight237 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 1:59 amThere is literally a recently-made AVGN review that once again emphasized the importance of smart enemy AI: https://youtu.be/AtbhSRCR7S0?t=600

1) Big whoop you go to college and have a job, I have a job to, and so do millions of other people, I mean Im not sure about college as I'm more or less going to the military, but you don't see me going around trying use that in an argument to try to make myself look better, furthermore it's completely irrelevant and utterly useless to even mention it , it only makes yourself look arrogant and foolish.
2) I'm not projecting I'm only expressing my frustration I have with you constantly bickering about the game.
3) The only reason you think it deserves poop talking, is because you're probably another butt hurt hh player, and now you're just poop talking any of the new games the dev releases and poop talk anyone who disagrees with you.
