Making Whipmasters... More Like Simon Belmont

So, basically the idea Robby originally had for Whipmaster was much like Simon Belmont in Smash. At the tip, the whip really nails its foes, but at the hilt, it doesn't do all that much. The spot in between is the middle ground.
Since Wizard was reworked into a class that used orbs (which I'm personally still disappointed of), why not rework Whipmasters in a way where the original idea for Whipmaster is back in the game again? Basically... Here's what I mean.
Whipmaster Now
Tip Damage: 1.8x
Non-Tip Damage: 0.45x
Original Whipmaster Class (with subsequent buffs)
Tip Damage: 1.8x
Thong/Middle Damage: 1x
Hilt Damage: 0.45x
I can really care less about skills right now; if the base attack doesn't work all that well, and the base attack is the most important first impression tool, who's gonna bother with the class' skills then?

I agree except I would make everything 1x and the tip 1.8x

Can't argue with thatFlashlight237 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 7:43 pmUnderstandable, but I don't think a whipmaster should be encouraged to waltz up to an enemy and whack him with the handle.

I actually don't support this. To me, the whipmaster is meant to be a skillful class, and this kinda takes that away making it easier to use. Instead of noobify-ing the class, why not make tip hits actually strong and worth the extra skill needed? Like seriously, tip hits should be more like 5x base damage, yeah, that much, maybe even more.
As far as skills go however, for any skill based on non-tip hit damage that doesn't have the ability to tip-hit within the skill (such as the fire whirl skill, dunno what that damage is based on off the top of my head, but say it was based on non-tip damage for examples sake), I would support that being changed to reflect 1.0x damage instead of the 0.45x non-tip damage, that way the skills are not incredibly weak.

Yeah exactly, it's not the fact you gotta use skill that ruins it, it's the fact the reward is actual shιτassCrazyVanilla wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 5:46 pmI actually don't support this.
