Actually, comparing a game to other games IS a point; in fact, it's what you're supposed to do if you want credibility in your statements. It's called "using references." If it wasn't, why do reviewers (AVGN and Nitro Rad are pretty good examples) bring other games up all the dang time when reviewing a game? And why does Jakub draw parallels to Runescape at certain times when looking at HH and Eliatopia? If Jakub's allowed to use Runescape as a reference, then I should be allowed to use other games as references, especially when it comes to stuff even the best RPGs are guilty of.
Pokemon has a realistic day/night cycle where certain enemies only spawn at night and you don't call that useless.
Minecraft has a more fast-paced day/night cycle (20 minutes per day) where enemies only spawn at night period aside from certain bells and whistles (caverns, raids, the Nether, the list goes on) and you don't call that useless.
Animal Crossing has a realistic day/night cycle that blocks off shops on a greater level than Eliatopia and you don't call that useless. Bear in mind, shop closures are widespread in Animal Crossing (permanent shops like Nook's Cranny close; wandering merchants like Sahara don't) unlike in Eliatopia where the shop closure thing only happens in the only retail store in the game.
Eliatopia combines Pokemon's and Animal Crossing's day/night cycles, giving off a more realistic-feeling day/night cycle even when it still doesn't fully match Jakub's and my combined visions of how a day/night cycle should feel (I've yet to see night-exclusive NPCs and events, and the Hellshag is just a seed in an entire field of nocturnal monsters waiting to be sown).
Imagine being an expansionist wanting to branch out when certain people want to stomp things down before they have a chance to sprout. Oh, and by the way, Easter Eggs are completely useless both mechanically and aesthetically yet developers add them in because they're fun to search for. If game devs had your vision, there would be no such thing as Easter Eggs.
