What are you expecting? A comprehensive reply detailing every thing conceivable about them? Just go to one of the towns and read the info.

The vending machine is a marketplace where you can put items up for sale. If the items you have put up for sale have not been bought by anybody after 5 days, there is a chance that they will be dropped during a future drone event. Drone events happen everyday at random times in random areas of the world. Check the donation board in Teplar village or Alion city to know when and where these events will take place. During the event a drone will just fly at a slow pace occasionally dropping items. You’ll get the feel for the event pretty quickly if you just attend one of them.
