Shield Skills

Hardly anyone uses shields, which triggered Robby's want to buff shields. I had a couple skills that would help.

Let's start with the thing players are gonna want the most: damage. Here's a damage-based Shield skill.:

Shield Basher
Levels: 5
Base Damage: 106%
Damage Increase per Skill Level: 6%

Since Shields are classified as weapons, I'd have Shield Basher's skill multiplier factored into weapon power. For example, if you have Retribution as your weapon and Shield Basher is at Level 5, Weapon Power would be increased from 41 to 53.3. Pretty snazzy, huh? This skill would be placed right below Shield Master.

Also, I had thought of a skill myself for shields. Well, two, actually. Both branch off from one another.

Hearty Shield
Levels: 3
Base HP Increase: 10
HP Increase per Skill Level: 10

Magical Shield
Levels: 3
Base MP Increase: 10
MP Increase per Skill Level: 5

Oh, and one Gunman skill that makes use of Shields.

Riot Control
Levels: 3
Requirements: Shield must be equipped
Base Defense: 105%
Poison Damage Taken: 90%
Defense Increase per Skill Level: 5%
Poison Damage Taken per Skill Level: 10%
Base Defense (max level): 115%
Poison Damage Taken (max level): 70%

And a branch of it.

Aggressor
Class: Gunman, duh!
Levels: 5
Requirements: Shield must be equipped
Base Power: 105%
Power Increase per Skill Level: 5%

Know what? Why not a fun skill for Warriors.

Shield Surfer
Description: Instead of holding your shield, you can ride your shield like a silvery surfer dude. Radical, dude!
Button: Hold V
Levels: 5
Base Speed: 130%
Speed Increase per Skill Level: 10%

Robby wanted vehicles, and I figured... Why not have warriors surf on their own shields? That sounds like fun. But yeah, there's that.

Poison damage taken ? Vs. Poison Resistance ?

I've heard that right aye 😂

What you mean by the poison damage taken is poison resistence , Damage taken means the damage you take right so poison damage taken is should be amplify the damage you taken not resist right ?

That's what I've been thinking that why is he put that makes amplifies poison?

And that's why I ask what do you mean by poison damage taken lmao so you mean by that Poison Resistance(dumb). Haha 😆

Thanks for the suggestions! I do like some of these, but I do have some issues with a few of them. My main thing is that I want to create a clear contrast between a person using a shield and a person using only a weapon(s). That contrast being a defensive decision and an offensive decision. I feel giving an offensive bonus to using a shield kind of blurs those lines. I want most of the perks of using a shield to be defense benefits or features.

That being said I have added 2 new shield skills for the next update. The second one does have a slight offensive benefit though. Here is what they will be:

"Hearty Shield": Increase your overall health when using a shield.
Levels: 5
Base HP increase: 10
HP increase per level: 15

"Reflection": When attacked, you have a chance of reflecting the attack back at the enemy, thus causing them to attack themselves. The reflected attack misses you, so you do not receive damage from it.
Levels: 4
Base chance: 6%
Chance increase per level: 4%
