A Little Experiment with Loot Values: Necrostinker (Monster)
Posted: Fri May 07, 2021 7:24 am
Okay, so after getting the information I need from Robby, particularly how loot value is calculated on his end (it's based on the items' full values), I'm gonna try a little experiment here. We're currently sitting at monsters that are about six times as tanky as the Night Stalker (based on endurance calculations of the Shellshocker, Fernip, and Claystone alone) as regular mobs and horde mobs nearly twice as tanky as the Night Stalker (Tesla Crawlers; based purely on endurance calculations), and I'm sure monsters will get tougher after players defeat Moonchyllus. Knowing this, I'm gonna try a little experiment with a monster I've suggested once before: the Necrostinker.:
I'm expecting the guy to be one of, if not the first, post-Moonchyllus monster. What I was going for is a monster that both uses AOE attacks and summons other weaker monsters. Here are the stats I have for this guy.:
HP: 666 (Please keep this HP value for the Necrostinker)
Defense: 60
Power: 128
Poison Damage: 10
EXP: 103 (calculated)
Description: The Necrostinker, as its name implies, can let out farts whose smell can literally raise the dead. It achieves this through a diet of durians, beans, onions, garlic, carrion, and the fruits of the strychnine tree. It frequents around cemeteries, where it uses its flatulence to raise the dead. This, along with the foul odor, helps keep predators like Scorpees and Night Stalkers from mobbing it despite their immunity to strychnine. Scorpees and Night Stalkers often eat the zombies resurrected by the Necrostinker while zombies that survive their onslaught wind up being eaten by Grunts and Hellshag packs the day after. The top-selling Eliatopian horror novel "Pet Semen Terry" revolves around a family who went out of their way to bury their deceased pets and loved ones at a cemetery teeming with Necrostinkers, only for the resurrected corpses to turn evil. Whoever put "semen" in the title probably doesn't even know what he's doing.
Now, for their loot values, since ideally we wanna get people to move on to the next level and make it easier to get the equipment necessary to progress, I'm gonna make their loot values a relatively big jump from the Nature Factory mobs before. Here's what I got.:
Necrostinker Loot Table
Mistress Mask: $39 (based on provisional stats); 10% (3.9)
Mistress Outfit: $39 (based on provisional stats); 10% (3.9)
Mistress Garters: $39 (based on provisional stats); 10% (3.9)
Marshmallow Stick: $216; 7% (15.12)
Moonlight Sickle: $5832; 0.5% (29.16)
Scythe: $9676; 1.2% (116.112)
Moonlight Scythe: $15336; 0.3% (46.098)
Pollution Helmet: $32206; 0.3% (96.609)
Reaper Hood: $209278; 0.05% (104.639)
Stage 2 Poison Rune: 2; ???
Stage 3 Poison Rune: 3; ??? (1/2 drop rate of Stage 2 Rune)
Total Loot Value (expected): 419.438
I think the loot value I've provided, around 419 (double that of the Claystone), should be a good enough kickstarter for the next "arc" of the game. Yep.
As for the zombies, ehh...
Name: Zombie (pictured as skeleton-looking things with the Necrostinker)
Sound: https://www.mediafire.com/file/f3akx12l ... e.mp3/file
HP: 66
Defense: 22
Power: 35
Poison Damage: 4
EXP: 23 (calculated)
Description: While zombies are seen as major threats in movies, in reality, zombies are a smidge less threatening than a Rafflesia. Zombies are often summoned in droves by the farts of the Necrostinker. Thanks to predation by Scorpees, Night Stalkers, Grunts, and Hellshags, there is no threat of a zombie apocalypse. Aside from their mysteriously poisonous bites, lumbering movements, and tendency to eat flesh, zombies are known to exhibit very Karen-like behavior such as spazzing out and eating essential oils. Eliatopians usually avoid being bitten due to their lack of a brain. Skeletons are also resurrected by Necrostinkers; however, they prove to be both fragile and uninteresting to any predators other than Night Stalkers and Rafflesias.
Zombie Loot Table
Orange: $67; 10% (6.7)
Eyepatch (Whipmaster): $20 (based on provisional stats); 10% (2)
Golf Club: $240; 2% (4.8)
Baseball Bat: $510; 1% (5.1)
Bullwhip: $1867; 0.5% (9.335)
Machete: $2744; 0.4% (10.976)
Woodcutting Axe: $4082; 0.15% (6.123)
Colt Pistol: $11111; 0.05% (5.5555)
Stage 1 Poison Rune: $1; ???
Stage 1 Electric Rune: $1; ???
Stage 1 Ice Rune: $1; ???
Total Loot Value (expected): 50.5895
Yeah, I think that should be fair. So yeah, there's that. Hopefully that'll speed up the preparation process a little.
