Shmt probably already suggested this. But this is different.

Basically wearing a full piece of armor grants you a special bonus. Something like

ex:the paladin set.
Paladin Helmet/Armor/Legs
*equips paladin helmet*
No buffs yet

*equips paladin armor*
Buff:+5% defense (increased on overall defense)

*equips paladin legs*
Buff:4% chance to reduce enemy hp by 10% when hitting an enemy (does not apply on players)
Effect take on players:stuns player for 3 seconds

It doesn't have to be worn in order, equipping 2 pieces of a set will trigger a set buff.
You're probably asking what this has to do with making grinding fun. Buffs to make grinding fun. Think of mining things on Minecraft with haste IV, instead of mining with no haste at all.

Edit: oh yeah, the buffs should have names too, for this one i give it "Hardened Force" and based on some set. Wearing certain pieces will have some sort of counter on how much set pieces you've equipped. Something like
Ex:"Hardened Force" [1/3]
*equips another set piece*
"Hardened Force [2/3]"

Maybe also giving things level caps? like you need to be level 25 to wear one set? It would encourage people to grind for those new sets like in hh. Along with your idea people would have so many reasons to grind and it wouldn't be a stale game as much. As long as you don't need like 300 levels for one armor set *cough cough helmet heroes cough* then it would be chill

there are already level req for amors and weapons but they are so low that nobody notices them

Lol, terraria needs you to wear the specific set. And it's only one bonus. This one is different, the buff could be at the weapon and legs
