Change beards?

I've already noticed that the beards have looked a little bit weird. they are firmly attached to the chins of the strange wood folk.
Something they could do to fix this is to make the beards look like this:

But do they even need to fix beards? Are they too iconic? I'm a bit torn. Of course, they could always go the route of simply adding more beards without removing the old one, which is probably the best bet. They could just name the old beard the "classic" beard
