I was thinking and got an idea.
Since it makes sense, shops close at night there should be an option to get something like a VIPcard or key for each house that will be closed ,which you can achieve by a mission , or its dropped by monsters.
Those cards would be tradeable and are only one-time usable.
Like this you couldve solve the problem but it still would make sense.
Id also suggest the eliatopians, who chill in big cities like alion or teplar would go to sleep when its midnight, so streets are empty.
That would make sense just like shops are closed midnight.
Either this or just remove the shops from closing.

Yeah, shops really shouldn't be closed because it wastes time having to either stay on the game and wait or just getting off or even afking not being able to do whats on your mind like; upgrading a weapon or buying some goodies. I support this and hope that it gets removed soon.
