Explosive Arrow (Skill)

So, this was inspired by Epic Battle Fantasy 5's "Nitro Arrow" skill where, basically, an arrow blows up. So I wanted to get a damage-boosting skill for archers in. To me, an exploding arrow worked best. Thing is I needed to properly balance the skill out in order to make the most of it.
Fortunately, there is already an explosion-based skill I can base the technique on: grenade throwing. People improperly use the skill by tossing grenades right onto their heads, so I had to check how far grenade-tossing would go when grenades are properly used.
To check for range, I went to the Renegade Hideout to buy a grenade and a couple arrows. Using a Walther PPK as my gun, I threw a grenade from the doorway, making sure my path wasn't blocked by any furniture. The grenade landed next to a pole before blowing up.
I then fired an arrow across the room through the best opening available. Unlike the grenade, the arrow went right across the hut. As arrows were given a range of 30 feet, the test would show that grenades have a range of 10 feet.
Finding the range of both a grenade and an arrow was important for balancing a skill out. Grenades currently have a base power of 420% and max out at 900%.
As it stands, the crusader-build of a warrior allows for an upwards 600% damage increase from a Rage-Fueled Power Smash and Mages can have upwards 175% timed AoE damage from Storm Clouds. This excludes Lifeless Crush and Blind Rage as I don't exactly know how both skills multiply base damage.
Arrows are single-target projectiles much like bullets, yet grenades are splash-damage attacks. Both, however, are untimed just like Power Smash and much unlike the Storm Cloud. As such, I came up with the best power level for the Explosive Arrows skill.
Explosive Arrows:
Base Power: 240%
Power Increase: 40%
Skill Levels: 5
Max Power: 400%
MP Cost: 4 + 1 per level (Max: 8)
This should hopefully be fair, preventing overuse at the start yet encouraging use once the skill is maxed out. But yeah, there's that.

Why do archers get all the cool skills lol.
They get more loot and money.

terraria exploding arrows lol, i have another suggestion tho. some different bullets. something like terraria with insane amount of bullets, exploding bullets, poison bullets, homing bullets, star bullets, you name it.

You can already infuse your weapon with fire and poison, so adding bullets with affinities kind of defeats the purpose

could just add an extra type of arrow that explodes that you can buy in shop

A somewhat combined this skill with the homing arrow skill. The homing arrows will make a small explosion on impact. I'll probably add branches to the homing arrow skill that will increase the explosion size or such in the near future.

Ah, that's good to know, I was considering withdrawing my suggestion. I forgot homing missiles were a thing.

Technically bullets (and arrows) already have affinities added to them thanks to, well, literally what you said about infusing weapons with elements.
