Consumables Detailed

Post by Flashlight237 » Sun Aug 21, 2022 11:00 am

So, Robby had made it clear that he doesn't want Elia to be too much of an HH carbon copy. Thankfully Eliatopia isn't oversaturated with HP and MP consumables, although they are overspecialized. Well, saturated, yes, but not oversaturated. The only Elixir-like consumable in the game is a banana, and it is a fairly weak consumable: only giving out 15 HP and 15 MP. The others focus primarily on HP and MP. They can be tiered as such.:

HP Consumables (weakest to strongest)
Cherries
Oranges (though why bother with them?)
Apples
Watermelon
Fries
Burgers
Meat Wings
Pizza

MP Consumables (weakest to strongest)
Blueberries
Pineapples
Green Soda

Elixirs (weakest to strongest)
Banana (yes, the Banana is legit the only Elixir of the set)

The only other combat-based consumable (that is, consumables used directly in battle) is the Smoke Bomb, but its effect is minimal to a point where it only sees exclusive use in a story quest. Really, it's just 1 poison damage per second; even the weakest poison skills at their lowest levels can outclass that. The other consumables are used out of battle, particularly runes (which there are 30 of) and quest items (which double as crafting material). There's also ammunition, but do we really have to count that?

As such, I would propose the following consumables.

MP Consumables

Orange (exists): https://www.eliatopia.com/forum/viewtop ... =5&t=10411

I have made a thread about oranges alone. The gist of it is change it's stats to 20 MP and add it to a few mobs.

Energy Drink:

Image

The Energy Drink. Yeah, figured it'd be a cool consumable for MP restoration. As for what it restores...

MP: 80
Price: $360
Where to buy?: Burger Boys

As for what monster would drop them, well...

Lumbercore: 5%; +18
Night Stalker: 2%; +7.2
Cionic Organism: 30%; +108
Shellshocker: 2%; +7.2
Steel Block: 5%; +18
Scrap Bot: 5%; +18
Feral Beast: 10%; +36
Multiplex Cortex: 25%; +90
Titanium Droid: 10%; +36
Colossal: 100%; +607

After that, we got the dragonfruit.:

Image

This is a Dragonfruit, which I felt would be fitting for the last rest stop before Xantis (the Third Resistance base). Here's what I got for it.:

HP: 130
MP: 5
Price: $607
Where to Buy: Mushroom Borough; Ancient Town

As for what would drop it, well...

Mandrake: 0.5%; +3.035
Azulong: 2.5%; +15.175
Multiplex Cortex: 50%; +303.5
Saw Guardian: 10%; +60.7
Colossal: 100%; +607

Elixirs

Here's another Elixir just like the banana: the Coconut Drink

Image

It would have the following stats:

HP: 40
MP: 40
Price: $360
Where to buy?: Tropics

As for drops, here's what would drop it.:

Leafling: 4%; +14.4
Znake: 4%; +14.4

Also, there's tea.:

Image

HP: 64
MP: 64
Price: $576
Where to buy?: Mushroom Borough

In terms of drops, here's what I think would have it.:

Lumbercore: 5%; +28.8
Saw Guardian: 5%; +28.8
Xantis: 30%; +172.8

Combat

Okay, so here's where the meat of this thing is at. Personally, I think these consumables should have a cooldown so nobody spams them. There's a difference between convenience and exploits. I'll try and be careful with this here. That being said, for offense, we have the Chili Pepper.:

Image

The chili pepper would boost a player's offense by 25% for a limited amount of time. The following mobs would drop these things.:

Hellshag
Batling
Mandrake
Scrap Bot
Feral Beast

For the next, a defensive consumable. It's an old one: peppermint.:

Image

These things would provide a 10% boost in defense. Pretty small, but warriors have it a bit too good anyhow. The mobs that would drop Peppermint are as follows:

Ice Block
Razor Ice
Waffle Cone
Steel Block
Azulong
Blizzer

After that, I got dynamite.:

Image

These things will deal 600% damage and is intended for use against walls. Yep. Those annoying things that will block out skill multipliers. Mhmm.

Lastly, there was one more item I had in mind. I hadn't drawn it yet, but basically it's a tear gas canister, which would deal 5 or 10 poison damage per second. Of course like every other combat-oriented consumable (peppers, mints, and dynamite), I think this one should have a cooldown, mainly so people don't abuse those dang things. Mhmm.

So yeah, there's what I can provide.

I don't like foods that heal both mana and health. Sometimes you'll want to heal health at full mana, and the item won't be spent to its best benefit. Just makes it even more expensive.
Also there is no need hp food after pizza, it will make pvp even more delayed and greatly increase the tank abilities of players.

I mean, ever seen an elixir? Those things are expensive because they provided the best of both worlds (even though they restore stats fully regardless of how powerful you are; something I wouldn't let happen in Elia. I don't need PvP experience to know that an item that fully restores everything in one go would ruin PvP).
