About chaining crit skill

"Chaining crit skill" (under "general" skills) gives you a chance to deal some damage to "neaby" enemies when you land a critical hit. However after the very early part of the game (like until crabs), this doesn't seem to activate a lot, even at max skill. I wonder if more players feel the same. I'm starting to remove 3 levels of this skill since it currently feel useless to me (as an archer anyway). Admittedly, maybe warriors sometimes use this skill (still, not often), but i don't see other classes using this skill at all. I keep 1 level of "chaining crit skill" for upgrading "devastating crit".
So either i don't see clearly the "8 ft" in-game, or i feel like the distances are all glitched (like whip weapons). Maybe buff the distance a fair ammount to actually matter? Mid-late game areas contain big enemies that are very often way too spaced from eachother. How about increasing crit chance further instead? (like, make a 5-level skill where 1 level increase crit chance by 2 or 4%, resulting a total of 10 or 20% boost)
