Pellet Spitter gunmen be like:
But on a serious note, well, I'll address what I can.

lmao are you stupid? Two handed weapons are USUALLY better for everything! There is no "op mechanic" here, it was as simple as two handed weapons being faster and dealing more damage overall, with the only times that's different being runes like fire on havoc.
you're a moron.
Cinos, you're wrong on that regard. There are some key differences in regards to one-handed weapons and two-handed weapons in regards to how they work.:
One-Handed Weapons (dual-wields specifically since hardly anyone uses shields outside of PvP apparently)
+ Faster attacks, generally
+ Higher dps, generally
+ Higher poison rune damage each second if fully enchanted (note that Poison damage is fixed across all weapons)
+ Some skills benefit from higher speed (ex. Storm Cloud and Power Smash)
+ More likely to trigger ice effect
- More expensive (typically about 30-50% more)
- Lower raw damage, generally
- Harder to fully enchant
- More costly in terms of ammunition
- Some skills don't benefit from dual-wielding
Two-Handed Weapons
+ Higher raw damage
+ Easier to fully enchant
+ Some skills benefit from higher power (ex. Explosive and Lava Smash, Orbs, Magic Breath)
+ Cheaper
+ Less costly in ammunition
- Slower attacks, generally
- Lower dps, generally
- Lower poison rune damage each second if fully enchanted
- Some skills are better with dual-wielding
- Less likely to trigger ice effect
So no, not one wielding style is better for everything; each style has their pros and cons.

"Oh no. Robby nerfed the OP 1-handed guns that dominated late game areas grind + PvP areas. Now i can't pretend to be good and have to actually learn how to play efficiently against other classes". - Several mid-late cowboy players who relied on abusing OP mechanics-
"Finally, i was tired of being spawn-camped or instant shot by cowboys withouth being able to do anything in PvP areas. Finally, i can do better at late game areas." - Pretty much everyone else, which is a good majority of players-
I'm in agreement here. While, yes, camping is a strategy in any PvP game (my brother would know; he played plenty of FPSs), it is definitely the most frowned-upon one. Usually camping is a "skill issue" dealie. Plus the Pit is supposed to be highly risky yet fair for those willing to take the risk, and with camping minimizing the risk without mastering a class, it's kinda unfair to those more willing to master each class. While I can't exactly claim that one-handed guns are OP, I do believe this would definitely help people who prefer two-handed guns, even those past the Pellet Spitter.
