As I said before, reduce the 10x boost to a mere 1x boost, 2x if you're desperate enough. Our main concern would have to be the looters. While Cyro's concerns about alt-manipulation is a big one, looting would top that concern as even an expert alt-manipulator would be miffed if a looter waltzed up to their stuff and steal them. While, yes, a 10x bonus for every 25 monsters would boost EXP gain rate by 1.4x should you be successful, a looter stealing the orb would mean you've missed out all the precious extra EXP you'd be getting while the looter gets off scott-free with loads of XP.
The difference between orbs being worth 2x normal XP and orbs being worth 1x normal XP lies in their significance and looting potential. A 1x EXP orb wouldn't exactly make much of a difference in grinding speed (4% isn't the most noticeable), this under the radar deal would be less appealing to looters. On the other hand, 2x would be more noticeable as it increases grinding speed by 8%, I feel that's when looters start sniffing around for orbs. At least that's my take.

Can someone explain the way that alt manipulation is supposed to work in this situation please? I would like to give my thoughts but I cant when I dont even understand what I'm talking about.

Alright, so the EXP Orb should give less EXP due to looters ... I never have that issue (Probably game population) and also alts ... well, they still have to kill the 25 enemy's ... should that be increased? Or would locking the EXP Orb for whoever got the 25th kill be easier?
Should the "EXP Orb" concept be dropped and replaced with simply, the 25th enemy killed in a room just straight up gives 10x/2x 1? exp (no drop etc)?
