A Buff to 2 Handed weapons.

Lets face it, the only reason anyone buys a 2 handed weapon is because its cheaper than buying 2- 1 handed weapons, but really, the price is not even that much of a difference for how much weaker 2 handed weapons are. The only other benefit is the longer reach, which again, is minuscule compared to the loss of power.

Here are some stat comparisons of 1 handed and 2 handed weapons between the three classes:

Element Wand: $438,976 each ($877,952 for 2)
Power: 75 each (150 for 2)
Reach: 4.9 feet

Element Staff: $721,210
Power: 100
Reach: 6.6 feet.

Jester Wand: $704,969 each ($1,539,938 for 2)
Power: 88 each (176 for 2)
Reach: 5.2 feet

Jester Staff: $983,449
Power: 111
Reach: 7.1 feet

Skull crusher Machete: $531,441 each ($1,062,882 for 2)
Power: 80 each (160 for 2)
Reach: 5.5 feet

Skull Crusher Blade: $810,337
Power: 104
Reach: 6.9 feet

Butchers Club: $804,357 each ($1,608,714 for 2)
Power: 92 each (184 for 2)
Reach: 5.8 feet

Butchers Cleaver: $1,121,129
Power: 116
Reach: 6.7 feet

Lil Skullzer: $504,123 each ($1,008,246 for 2)
Power: 63 each (126 for 2)
Reach: 33.3 feet
SPM: 276 each (552 for 2)

Skullzer: $823,128
Power: 86
Reach: 33.3 feet
SPM: 257

Bone Pirate Pistol: $745,647 each ($1,491,294 for 2)
Power: 70 (140 for 2)
Reach: 33.3 feet
SPM: 300 (600 for 2)

Bone Pirate Blaster: $1,082,788
Power: 92
Reach: 33.3 feet
SPM: 276

As can clearly be seen from the list of weapon stats and prices above, 2 handed weapons SUCK. In reality, most 2 handed weapons are far worse than the 1 handed weapons from the tier below them! This is not even including the elemental upgrades, from which you can get nearly x2 of with 1 handed weapons.

I don't exactly have a specific buff in mind, this post is more to just bring attention to the issue. However, it would be cool if the 2 handed weapons could be buffed by making them "different", rather than just increasing their power or SPM. If their power is just increased, it will just make them virtually the same as 1 handed weapons, which still would likely prove them mostly useless, given everyone already has their 1 handed weapons upgraded. It would be awesome if there was a reason to use 2 handed weapons over 1 handed, basically a perk to them that 1 handed weapons don't have.

If anyone has a suggestion for how to make them different, post it below!

 1 hand weapon does not multiply damage, like two weapons 70 will be 140, this does not work like that, damage is done faster but does not get bigger х2

2 hand weapon more damage than 1 hand and i not see why u need buff powerful equip.

The only way I can think of that can help you is if two-handed weapons gave skills a power multiplier. That and maybe inverting the RPM values of the latest guns (why do two-handed guns have slower base RPM values than their one-handed counterparts?). One-handed weapons and two-handed weapons don't exactly, err, combine like that like what you're saying here. Lemme be a little more specific. Yes, you can easily double your DPS when you got two of the same one-handed gun, but at the same time, err...

With warriors well, two-handed warriors have the clear upper hand in Ninja Slash since dual-wielding doesn't boost that skill at all at the time. Don't think explosions are boosted by dual-wielding either. Aside from those two in particular (I don't think anyone's tried grenades like that yet), it's a bit wonkier. Sure, one-handed weapons immediately double their DPS when dual-wielded, but the general rule of thumb with two-handed weapons is that they're 1.3x more powerful than their one-handed counterparts. Taking that into account, the DPS boost is more like this:

2/1.3=1.538461538

Yet, on the other hand, the base attack for warriors and mages are a bit weird... Like, let's see...

Single-Wield hits per minute: 120
Dual-Wield hits per minute: 192

So suppose I have 50 strength and I use either the Butcher's Cleaver or two Butcher's Clubs. The base values are more like this:

Clubs: 80*50=4000
Cleaver: 104*50=5200

Then...

Clubs: 4000*192=768000
Cleaver: 5200*120=624000

Using the damage per minute values, this is what I can gather.:

768000/624000=1.230769231

I'm fine keeping the base attack and weapon values the way they were laid out, but I do think the most effective way to buff two-handed weapons, still, is to buff how they factor into skill damage. A 1.5x multiplier to skill damage for two-handed weapons should be just enough to get them to catch up with dual-wielding one-handed weapons while at the same time keeping both builds as a choice as opposed to visibly a necessity.

And by the way, I wouldn't call 1.5x more costly than two-handed weapons "not even that much of a difference"; the way things work with how money is spent in the game, that difference is kinda big.

Sup. I use a two handed gun so I don't have to travel back and forth for ammo as frequently. But perhaps that's because I'm a noob who can barely afford anything. Who knows.

Yeah, it's like I said before, the biggest disadvantage to two-handed weapons (or just single-wielding in general for that matter) is how they factor into skills, which as far as I can tell are (as usual for RPGs) mandatory. There are several advantages and disadvantages to both. I'll just compare their advantages since the disadvantages can be worked out from there.

Single-Wielding

-Cheaper (dual-wielding usually costs 30-50% more for the same "tier"; calculated from single-handed and two-handed weapons)
-Less MP used in some cases
-Less ammo used up (gunmen only)
-Shields can be used for extra defense (weapon must be one-handed)
-More raw power when attacking (weapon must be two-handed; works better against tanks like Znakes and Steel Blocks, and if you want to deal more damage to mobs)
-Easier to enchant

Dual-Wielding
-Guaranteed extra hit with skills in some cases
-Guaranteed extra hit with base attack (gunmen only)
-More DPS when attacking (which might not work against tanks like Znakes and Steel Blocks, but does allow you to kill mobs faster)
-Poison damage is more effective

Really, the only buff I would say is necessary for two-handed weapons is to give them a boost in how they factor into skill damage like I said before. Doing anything to their base power just makes two-handed weapons more expensive.

Thanks for the detailed post. Unfortunately I must have missed this and got my hands full with too many things for the current update, so I can't really check out too many suggestions at the moment. But this looks like it has a bit of thought put into it. I'd say bump this in about a month, as I hope to have a little more time to read into this then.

Feel free to check my own post on the matter (it's right in this thread) as well. I was doing my best to help CV out here.

There should also be rideable and buyable mounts so people dont keep killing our beetles, scorpees, and nightstalkers.
