Kick People Out For Being AFK

Post by MAGA » Fri Feb 26, 2021 6:06 pm

The game cant handle multiple people in an area and becomes very laggy... people are always AFK sitting on the bench in area 60 and probably other areas too. There is no need for them to be sitting there slowing the game down so just add a feature that disconnects you after a certain amount of time. Not sure how long to make that AFK kick timer but maybe like 10 minutes. Its not fun when there's mobs and loot teleporting like crazy when you are just trying to farm because somebody is AFK in the area.

Hmm, the same should easily be able to handle multiple people in an area without taking much of a performance hit. Just to be sure though, what type of "lag" are you referring to? Are you referring to the entire game running slow and the frame rate dropping? Or are you referring to things like enemies and items teleporting around?

I support this, there is no reason to be afk in the game for that long. This would also prevent people who purposely knock beetles (or other mobs for that matter if its possible in the area) off the map then sit there afk so that others who are trying to grind cant reset the area to make them spawn again *cough* Melmar *cough*.

I would assume for the lag he is talking specifically about mobs and loot teleporting. Personally I've never really experienced FPS lag or the actual game slowing down from multiple people being in the same area, but when there is multiple people, the mobs and loot teleport A LOT, especially with Beetles. And that is EXTREMELY annoying.

I don't know if this is directly related, but when there are multiple people and I'm on a map for an extended period of time, sometimes leaf guard and orb field will get "stuck" in their animation. I think this usually occurs with the menu bug that occurs occasionally though.

exactly what he says... not like actual lag just stuff teleporting like crazy. If somebody is sitting on the bench AFK it makes mobs teleport and people like Melmar knock mobs off and then afk for hours on a daily. I think it might have something to do with region. I'm from U.S. and it gets bad when Filipinos(or at least I think they are) come in the room but, my friend from the U.S. doesn't cause any teleporting. It could be some type of server issue where its faster or slower for one person causing the issues (if that makes sense.) That's just a thought, I don't know anything about servers or making games for that matter.

Could be in part because of the Auroch Beetle's size itself. These teleportation issues were rampant from Kreetons and larger monsters in HH in part due to how big they were, plus I had issues with just a single beetle teleporting around in Alion City when the AI takes over (which happens whenever you dismount the beetle). I've never seen any teleportation issues from either cave area even when the 2nd one is the most monster-dense area there is thanks to Batlings.

The size of the beetles definitely plays a part in the issues. A good start would be fixing the out of bounds area under the bridge in area 60... always bums afk there after kicking mobs out of the map. Nearly every time I go there, there's always somebody AFK after kicking them out. The new one today is !Warlock! and i try to kill him but he's tabbed out and cant be hurt (which shouldn't be part of the game) and then i try to push him out of the area and he runs to the bench and sits. People are so petty its unreal.
