Making forums safer for kids

Post by Iogan » Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:09 pm

There are people in the forums filling it with pornographic content most commonly scat fetish stuff which is plain weird
Given how a large percentage of people in the forums are children some under the age of 13 it is a massive issue that they are being exposed to that sort of content.
I don’t know how it possible it would be to implement a system that can censor that type of imagery automatically but it’s definitely needed.
If that is not possible perhaps making a few active, long time and trusted members of the community able to censor images and put forums accounts in suspension for you to then ban them whenever you check .
Idk how effective it would be as they could always just make more accounts but it may help combat it
Also if the community moderators abuse there ability to suspend accounts then they could also be banned and to prevent them from deleting the reports made about them maybe when the moderators delete forums content it could be still available to the moderators and you so you can see when players are reporting moderators and so that content can be discussed and reopened if it isn’t actually offensive and was just miss clicked or something and also a way to monitor moderator activity would probably be smart. This is just to help the people in the forums and community moderators to operate without issue.

Good, but not gonna happen. This game has only one moderator (Robby), And is developing his other game. Also is not likely another moderator will be hired.

Yeah but you're not even online on weekends, having purely forum moderators could work. No way to abuse their power ingame, merely a method to remove the absolute most dangerous content (such as, you know, pοrn and excessive bigotry) would work wonders. I mean even 4chan has janitors for like, THE MOST ILLEGAL things.

Like you added the word filter, and it just made communication harder. There is no fix for images, ergo, we need human intervention, not automated filters or whatever.
