What is this how does it work

There's piano keys at the top of the map when you first enter the shroomborough area. If you hit the keys in this order, the door to the cave opens up.

You could just go through the story and get the code from the npc.

when i opened it i went in and fell into the void (no joke i was there for abot a minute until i reloaded

You need to talk to the npc at the dump, and then ask the npc in the 83 house for the code.
