its based on each individual transaction, and it randomly selects a certain amount of them for each KOTH jackpot. If you buy 100 pizzas individually, that is counted as 100 different transactions.

It will remain in the pool until it is selected. Every transaction will eventually make it into the koth jackpot, you just don’t know when.
