I tried asking multiple times and were given chances (3-5 mins). I was thankful for it. I tried doing the same to people who sometimes rush grind because they have other things to do. It's a give-and-take mechanism and it's not the way u portray it.

It's never a rule (this may be a fault of mine for saying a too technical term "spot mechanics") and never will be. It's a good gesture that you MAY OR MAY NOT follow (either way is fine).

You cant simply disregard that gesture because it's not compulsory, it's a choice. You dont get to decide for others.
