No? Then don't do it. (and to anyone else reading this, It's just a joke, do NOT take it seriously, especially you luv)
Anyway back on topic. I admit i don't have lot of experience about MMORPG. Maybe you have a stronger opinion about cheating and botting than me. but i would still like to reapeat: "Just to be clear, i'm not saying botting is fine or morally acceptable for the normal player. Just that's it's on a different level than actual hacking"
Maybe i should have worded it better, but my point is there iare different severity of hacking. Any hacking is bannable, you are right. But let's not mix "limited botting" with "adding 1M emeralds instantly". Yes the last one easier to detect, but it doesn't change the fact it's more serious (the advantage is incomparable).
I still think my point still stand. The only advantage botting have is the constant time of grinding. How can you tell between:
- a player that stay 5 hours at the same place spamming his skill and ignoring all chat
- a player botting with a programm builded in the computer
- a player who build a machine / system IRL that constantly press the skill key, and then still go afk. That player did nothing in his computer, there is no programm to find. Yet he can effectively achieve the same results as a botter. (i addmit they are extremly few, if any at all, but you can't deny the possibility exist, especially since it only require 1 button to be pressed regularly to farm).
And if i'm honest, "gaining an unfair advantage" might be exagerated when you are at very high level. Let's be real, very high level players likely have the best set possible (with all the important runes). And at this point, food isn't a problem (surely you don't consume 10k sodas in one pvp session?). Skills are pretty much maxed, so you can have any skill loadout you can have. The only actual difference would be the stats, and i think between a lvl 130 and a lvl 140 with similar builds, this difference is NOT noticeable.
The money? At that point, you can buy pretty much anything. And no, i don't think money power from gunman will change much between an ex-botter and a non-botter.
All botting does is severly reduce the time the player stays at his PC to grind exp/coins. The actual farming time doesn't change much compared to a non-botter (if anything, it's actually slightly higher, since you aren't running toward every enemy). The non-botter however have to make lot of grinding sessions for several weeks. In other words, the only real advantage botting in Eliatopia give is personal time convenience. It is NOT botting for rare drops (like team fortress 2), and again, while botting: you do NOT collect loot (at most, you collect the coins with coin magnet, but all items drops are left for anyone to "steal").
I get it, not everyone can bot (or want to bot). I get it, botting is immoral. Meanwhile, i still think there are much more serious problems happening (some game breaking exploits, some flawed game design choices, some major quality of life improvements, ...) and i think they deserve a more important attention (such as "use of exploits" like magic barrier grenade jumping over gates, ...)
