The winner of the KOTH is determined by whoever spends the most amount of time on the blue area in the KOTH arena during that specific KOTH (New KOTH every 15 minutes). The winner will receive the jackpot as their prize. The KOTH arena is in area #66.
Money will be deducted from your on-player balance every 2 seconds while inside of the KOTH arena, and the amount that is deducted is based on your level * 5 (if you are level 10, you will be deducted 50 coins every 2 seconds). In order to stay inside of the KOTH arena, you must be carrying a sufficient amount of money to cover the 2 second deductions. These coins are what is used to fund the jackpot, therefor the more players competing for the KOTH, the more the jackpot will be. If you are not carrying a sufficient amount of money to satisfy the 2 second deduction, you will be pulled out of the KOTH arena by the magnet, and that will continue to happen each time until you have sufficient funds to cover the 2 second deductions.
